BEHIND THE EIGHT BALL MC

MOTORCYCLISTS W/ CANCER

Chicago, Illinois and

 Central Virginia

Welcome to the Behind the Eight Ball MC, Motorcyclists with Cancer website.

We are a group of bikers with a common bond. Each and every member of Behind the Eight Ball MC is or has been personally afflicted with a life threatening disease. We are not a charity group, but a support group for those afflicted people who live and love motorcycles, but have been put behind the eight ball.   If our group sounds interesting to you, please read on.

Our group was founded in northern Illinois in 2006 by two cancer survivors, Tom and myself.  We both live and love motorcycles and have been riding most of our lives.

Eight Ball MC is starting a new chapter in Central Virginia.  We are looking for like minded bikers and survivors to meet with, ride with and share our life experiences with. Each member in the club gets a large eight ball patch to wear on the back of his jacket. If he or she is still treating his disease, he or she also wears a smaller version of the patch on the front of his jacket. That is to signify he or she is still "Behind the Eight Ball".  Only those people directly affected by a disease may become members. Family, friends or support groups. may wear support regalia, but may not become patch wearing members.

As a club, we may meet for breakfast on a weekend morning, go out for a ride on a Friday night, participate in a charity run or lend a hand wrenching on each other’s bikes.  Whether you ride a Harley, BMW, Suzuki, Honda or Triumph,  your experiences and your love of motorcycles make you eligible to be a member of this club.

There is no cost to become a member of Behind the Eight Ball MC.  The Virginia Chapter will have an organizational meeting on February 21, 2009.  The exact location has not yet been selected, but we are looking at places in Henrico or Richmond.

Please contact me, Neil at bikerlaw@aim.com   We hope to see you in February.
